The Role:

As a Staff Quality Advocate, you will be in a unique position to define, develop and drive quality standards, processes, and policies across the Technology department. At Thrasio we believe that quality is needed throughout the delivery lifecycle and our Staff Quality and Process Engineering Advocate will play a key role in helping us to make that a reality. Join our technology team and help us take the next steps toward building a world-class quality organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Help to define, drive and develop quality standards, processes, and policies
  • Champion Agile development practices to create meaningful technical solutions
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team to solve challenging and complex quality and process-related problems
  • Build relationships across technology to help create strategies that enable the teams to work together towards quality goals
  • Implement creative approaches to software testing that accelerate software development
  • Partner with teams to improve test planning process at the product, epic, story, and task levels
  • Conduct training, workshops on testing skill areas needed such as practices to build a shared understanding of features, creating a test automation strategy, moving towards continuous delivery, continuous testing around the DevOps loop, cognitive bias & testing, visual thinking strategy
  • Partner closely with the PMO to find lightweight frameworks for processes that can be continually adapted to empower teams to lead quality for themselves
  • Consult with cross-functional teams to provide ad-hoc support for delivery of test scenarios during requirements and coding phases 
  • Provide testing support as needed to support onboarding quality for delivery teams
  • Partner with developers and product owners to adapt Whole Team Quality (WTQ) practices to a team's unique needs
  • Offering creative solutions in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Train and mentor junior team members

What you bring to the party:

  • 10+ years of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Experience in driving QA principles and practices in Agile teams
  • Experience helping large, fast-growing software product organizations reach their quality goals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including isolating bugs in complex code
  • Passionate about learning new technologies

Nice to Have, but not required:

  • Knowledge with monitoring and observability
  • Knowledge of accessibility testing
  • Experience working for a company specializing in e-commerce or finance & acquisitions
  • Experience working with a high-growth startup environment
  • Experience with automation testing

Our office is about 15 miles southwest of Boston and is nestled between the commuter rail station, restaurants, town commons, and locally-owned shops.
