About the Role:

Abacus is seeking an enthusiastic Principal Engineer to join a product delivery team focused on building platform functionality. In this role you will have the opportunity work directly with Product Management, acting as a technical product owner to define, design, build, and deliver multiple components within the Abacus Insights platform. You will assist and collaborate with the team throughout phases of detailed requirements and acceptance criteria definition, set timelines for commitments on the deliverables, and be an active participant in the delivery of features.

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years experience building software and/or cloud applications
• 5+ years experience building AWS, PaaS enabled applications
• Demonstrated experience designing greenfield systems and seeing them through to release
• Demonstrated ability to provide architectural guidance and make trade-off decisions while balancing against a committed set of features on predictable schedule
• Experience leading the scope definition for non-functional requirements that define quality acceptance, deployment automation, and observability for your deliverables

Bonus Points:

• Previous experience with SaaS platform development
