As a Sr Software Engineer in Test (SET) , you will work closely with software developers and other SET engineers in small scrum teams to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.  Specific duties and responsibilities include: extending a regression suite developed in Python that runs on AWS, developing comprehensive test plans and automating the test procedures, triaging production defects in a Java application, analyzing and reporting on production and regression suite analytics, and participating in day-to-day SET activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing new Python code for updating an existing regression suite that runs on AWS
• Documenting comprehensive test plans and automating the test procedures
• Triaging production defects in a Java application
• Developing feature test pages that mimic problems found in production (in Java or Python)
• Analyzing and reporting on production and regression suite analytics
• Participation in day-to-day SET activities
• Prepare estimates for assigned tasks and complete all work according to schedule and quality requirements
• Acquire knowledge necessary to perform job assignments (technology, product and process)

Required Skills:

• Strong Python skills for instrumenting AWS resources, automating tests, and creating feature test page
• Experience testing a web application stack; knowledge of web servers, application servers, and databases
• Ability to write SQL queries
• 3-5 years experience with SET and programming

Desired Skills:

• Java knowledge for troubleshooting production defects
• Understanding the in-and-outs of high-performing multithreading Java applications.
• Familiarity with instrumenting browsers and JavaScript knowledge is a big plus.
• Create Amazon AMIs and controls starting and stopping EC2 instances.
• Familiarity with AWS CLI
• Familiarity with tools used in regression suite, such as: Apache/mod_wsgi, Flask, and Postgres
• Understanding of the Selenium IDE, Selenium WebDriver is a big plus
• PHP knowledge for augmenting existing PHP reports
• Experience testing a web application stack; knowledge of web servers, application servers, and databases
• Must possess excellent overall attention to detail, quality and customer satisfaction
• Self-motivated, results driven, and able to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to multitask; startup experience preferred
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in a cross platform environment
• Document and share technical information and processes
