Software Quality Assurance Lead
We are looking for a hands-on Software Quality Assurance Lead to lead a small SQA team and drive process improvements that help Evolv release robust, high quality software faster. We need an experienced SQA Lead to both oversee and participate in day-to-day SQA activities and to take a strategic leadership view of our development, test, and release processes to help make them better. Our products include advanced sensory hardware platforms (personnel scanners) with Android tablet GUIs, facial recognition systems, and a cloud-based digital intelligence platform. As our SQA Lead you will:
- Participate in project meetings and plan SQA efforts through the complete software lifecycle
- Create a test plan for bull blanket test coverage (new features, regression, load, stress, and performance, etc.) for the entire release, while ensuring timely delivery to GA & production
- Perform manual and automated testing while identifying and communicating defects and risks
- Help specify the test requirement for an automated test framework & help build the software quality infrastructure and processes at Evolv
Requirements
You have at least three to five years in software and/or system testing experience, a passion for quality, and a track record of at least three successful projects or major code releases delivered start to finish. You have strong knowledge of testing methodologies such as UAT, black- and white-box testing, system testing, and regression testing. You have experience as an SQA leader delivering challenging software releases and products involving wireless, networking, storage networks, robotics, and similar mission critical systems. You are eager to learn and keep current with new technologies to improve software quality and engineering processes. You have a can do attitude and an inherent drive for working in a high-paced, team-oriented environment, managing multiple priorities. In addition to being methodical, detail oriented, and well organized, you also demonstrate the following:
- Experience with modern CI/CD pipeline, test automation, test infrastructure, test management, issues and defect management systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership abilities, with a strong track record of leading a small team and an appetite to take on additional responsibilities as the company scales
- Experience with test automation platforms such as Selenium, Jenkins, Taiko or similar
- Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD development environments
- Familiarity with OSI networking protocols, cyber security, ethernet and WiFi networking
- Experience working in Agile (scrum and Kanban) methodologies, specifically Jira and Confluence
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving abilities
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies, applications, and testing standards
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- BS in Computer Science, System Engineering or related field
These skills are a plus:
- Familiarity with AWS services, Data base and Cloud technologies
- Prior experience with web technologies such as Angular, NodeJS, JavaScript
- Mobile Apps across platform
