Quilt is an early stage startup tackling one of the largest problems facing America today: the perfect storm of people living longer AND saving less. As an independent subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company, Quilt has the resources to make a real difference and the agility to succeed where traditional, old school financial services companies have failed in the past.

Currently in the product development stage, Quilt plans to launch its first financial product in 2019. We’re looking for an experienced SQA engineer to join our small but growing team and be part of the effort to translate our business concept into an interactive application.

You’ll get to …

  • Participate in the software requirements review and develop a corresponding test strategy for our web-based application

  • Drive selection and deployment of a tool/framework to help us create an automated test environment

  • Design, create, execute, and track detailed automated test cases to exercise new functionality as it is developed

  • Design and develop end-to-end test coverage for the overall application

  • Report, prioritize, track, and verify anomalies found during testing, and drive issues to closure

  • Report on overall test status of a given release, and track to testing milestones so as to ensure timely release

  • Develop a strategy for scalability and performance testing of the application

In the past you have…

  • Collaborated with s/w developers to ensure efficient selection and creation of automated test cases that maximize code coverage.

  • Developed test cases using a tool such as Selenium to create a suite of browser-based automated regression tests

  • Reported regularly on progress of testing towards a target release

It’d be nice if you also have…

  • Worked closely with s/w developers in an Agile environment

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby

  • Experience developing automated scripts to test backend server via APIs

  • Produced quantified measurements of scalability and performance of a web application

  • Experience with Jira as a bug tracking tool

  • Strong communications skills

You want to work at a company who values…

  • Having a sense of humor

  • Talking through complex issues while respecting the viewpoints of others

  • Working with data and letting the analytics be your guide

  • Collaborative project and product development

  • Thinking about what we’re building - not just how it'll be delivered

  • Keeping it simple

  • Being proactive

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years work experience in software testing

  • BS/CS or equivalent experience

  • Work from our Boston office

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. with or without sponsorship

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to embody our brand and values as you apply your expertise to build financial products that tackle, head-on, the retirement and longevity issues facing America.

We pay competitive base salaries and provide significant team performance bonuses. Our salary structure is commensurate with experience. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program, including medical insurance, 401(K) with match, and a pension offered through our corporate parent, MassMutual.

Quilt is a high-growth team and equal opportunity employer with many opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow. Our team values diversity and encourages all races, religions, colors, origins, genders, sexual orientations, ages, marital statuses, veterans, and abilities to apply.
