Our talented interdisciplinary team in Waltham, MA is growing! We are looking for the kind of people who are inspired just not by exciting technology, but by the opportunity to help build an engineering culture of rigor and excellence.

Veo is building complex systems to work in complex environments, and we need sophisticated simulation tools to model the wide range of applications and environments our systems will be deployed in. We’re looking for an engineer with a knack for working with gaming engines to build complete simulations of industrial workcells including the sensors, robots, and humans working inside them.

You will:

  • Build sophisticated, reliable simulation tools for Veo product development and testing
  • Customize gaming engines to represent robotic workcells and simulate the data output of Veo sensor systems
  • Develop tools and techniques to automatically generate, streamline, and enhance development and testing of Veo software
  • Enable import of models and robot programs from manufacturing CAD tools
  • Simulate human, robot, and equipment motion within a workcell
  • Keep up with and integrate new libraries, tools, etc as they become available

You are:

  • An experienced software engineer with 2+ years experience who has developed systems from concept through production
  • Proficient in C++
  • Familiar with gaming engines or simulation environments such as Unreal, Unity, or Gazebo
  • A first-principles thinker who can invent novel solutions to challenging technical problems
  • Comfortable following a structured software development process required for functional safety certification, including development of rigorous unit and systems tests
  • Willing to operate outside your area of direct expertise to solve hard problems with the rest of our cross-disciplinary team

Bonus points:

  • Experience building relevant technologies like flight simulators
  • Experience with robot motion planning or kinematic modeling
  • 3D modeling / animation
  • A background in physics, mathematics, mechanical or electrical engineering, or other discipline that provides an understanding of the analog/physical world
