As a Productivity Engineer, you’ll join a small team in an agile environment. We create, maintain, and extend a diverse array of tools and systems that support fast product development and delivery, enable team autonomy, and cultivate continual learning and experimentation across all engineering groups. You will work alongside smart engineers who are passionate about the product and producing quality code.

Located in either Boston or New York, you will get the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across Circle teams and continue to learn.

What you’ll work on:

• Own software throughout the entire development life-cycle
• Share ideas to improve our product and processes, make decisions that have significant impact, and provide feedback so we can continue to get better
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure they can build, test and deploy their apps easily and autonomously, to deliver the best possible experience to our customers
• Teach developers to build and test their apps in AWS with CloudFormation
• Documentation and Architectural diagramming
• Improve and simplify continuous integration and delivery pipelines
• Improve local development workflows

What you'll bring to Circle:

• 2+ experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines
• 2+ years experience with AWS CloudFormation and Docker and with advanced configuration systems such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
• Experience with container schedulers such as Kubernetes and/or AWS ECS
• Proven Python and shell scripting abilities and advanced Linux skills
• Familiarity with Node or Java
• Value reducing complexity and embrace simplicity
• Views “DevOps” as a set of engineering principles and not an actual team or job title
• Love working with people, strong communication skills and interest in collaborating across teams

Bonus

• Experience building and supporting a highly available (24/7) customer service
• Experience with Agile / Kanban workflows
• You read some or all of the following books: The Phoenix Project, The Devops Handbook, The Goal and/or Theory of Constraints
