Software Engineer II (Backend, Bluetooth Hub)

The Bluetooth Hub team is a new go-to-market team which will develop and maintain the connection between WHOOP and a peripheral for novel Enterprise phoneless scenarios. As a backend engineer on the Bluetooth Hub team, you will focus on communicating to WHOOP straps, bluetooth hubs, and the cloud. In addition, you help drive the technical direction of the end-to-end solution in conjunction with Product and Sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in a cross functional team that works closely with the Connectivity, hardware, and software engineering teams at WHOOP
- Develop end-to-end solutions for phoneless scenarios within the Enterprise space
- Create and own systems that enable members to seamlessly send data to the WHOOP cloud
- Work with containerized systems such as Docker
- Work on scaling challenges that span multiple systems and demand high availability and stability
QUALIFICATIONS
- You are experienced with backend development (preferably object oriented) in APIs and background workers - Java/Python
- You are experienced with utilizing relational databases - Postgres
- You are experienced working with cloud providers such as AWS
- You are excited to dive deep into challenges that extend past building applications and into infrastructure
- You thrive in a fast paced and data driven environment
- You are a team player who thrives on continuous learning and direct feedback
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
