POSITION: Software Engineer II

JOB DUTIES: Position will function independently to: implement system features and improvements to the customer facing TripAdvisor website; lead the development of core new features in our credit card vault and fraud systems; collaborate with members of the engineering and product teams; provide technical design and development feedback to peers, including code reviews; mentor junior engineers; lead the development and operational support of core finance and accounting infrastructure; collaborate with business and engineering leadership to determine design, scope, priority, and technical feasibility of new finance and accounting features; independently investigate, prioritize, and implement programming fixes to bugs; and provide operational support of core Tripadvisor platform infrastructure including on-call responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; and one (1) years of work experience in the job offered, or in a related position including the following: Languages including Java, JavaScript, and Python; API's and Service Oriented Architecture; Demonstrable experience developing efficient software quickly both in practice (TDD and agile methodologies) and in theory (Big-O algorithm analysis and data structure internals); Demonstrable knowledge of Linux and development technologies such as Apache, Tomcat, Postgres, Log4J, Google Guava, Check Metrix, and Memcached; Demonstrable knowledge of version control and deployment tools (GIT, Subversion, or Jenkins); Proficient understanding of cryptology and modern ciphers; Experience with PCI environments and PCI DSS guidelines.
