Overview /

The Numerated mission is to provide the best digital experience for bankers and borrowers in the small business and commercial lending space. To expand support for larger loan products, in November of 2021 Numerated acquired Fincura to incorporate their industry leading AI+UI solution for streamlining financial analysis within the end-to-end lending process. The Financial Analysis team is responsible for maintaining and building data centric algorithms and software solutions for quantitative analysis and loan underwriting. Specific technologies include document parsing algorithms, NLP, data analytics algorithms and pro forma loan modeling features. These technologies are a key piece to Numerated’s support for larger, more complex loans that require more sophisticated underwriting.

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Financial Analysis team, you’ll work closely with our product team to scope and deliver features based on market needs and customer requirements. We’re looking for a driven, communicative Principal Engineer with strong Python and backend engineering skills, with a deep understanding of what it takes to build ambitious and innovative professional software both from a code quality and architectural design perspective.

You’ll help drive product decisions and evaluate new feature ideas to make decisions, including where and how machine learning models should be used. Our platform will evolve to adapt to constantly changing business requirements while enforcing strict data quality standards and preserving data integrity.

Essential Responsibilities /

• Deliver full-stack capabilities in our modern, developer-driven tech stack: Python Postgres / Angular / React (70% Python, 30% Angular/React)
• Working flexibly with product needs: that means you could write frontend code one day, backend code the next, and experiment with machine learning / algorithms the day after
• Consistently apply best practices for design, coding standards, performance, security, delivery, and maintainability
• Act as a leader / mentor to the more junior team members
• Translate deep technical knowledge into high-level business value (and vice-versa) to apply the right tools and techniques to business problems and product requirements
• Be a technical leader for product features, helping ensure that development activities are coordinated throughout the development cycle achieving scalable solutions for our customer base
• Demonstrate ownership of developed components from development through production

Education Requirements /

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or other technical related degree or equivalent experience required
• Masters Degree in Computer Science or Math, or other technical related degree preferred

Work Experience Requirements /

• 8+ years of software development with demonstrated expertise in Python
• 4+ years of experience in large scale AWS based software design and development
• Proven ability to independently conceive and develop innovative architectures through to completion
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to create diagrams, charts and graphs to convey concepts both to engineering staff and management
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
• Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with microservices and microservice design patterns
• Experience with Federated Identity Management (FIM) and Single Sign On (SSO) highly desired
• Experience in a true CI/CD environment
