POSITION: Software Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Work with code at every level - from the HTML/JavaScript/CSS User Interface, to Java servlets and backend services, down to the database. Document and present designs for peer technical review and take full ownership of projects. Mentor more junior developers and work effectively in a highly-productive close-knit team. Write clean, correct, and efficient code. Communicate complex concepts clearly.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; and two years of post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a related position including the following: experience using high-level programming languages such as C++ or Java; Demonstrable knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, or Ruby; Experience with web technologies such as HTML, Javascript, CSS and JQuery; Demonstrable understanding of data structures and algorithms; Java and Object-Oriented architectures; Linux platform and its standard utilities; Experience working with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL using SQL; Writing and maintaining system reference documentation; Implementing and enhancing backend features in Java and Java-based frameworks; Demonstrable knowledge of big-data processing using Hive or Hadoop; Experience working with an IDE including Eclipse and IntelliJ.
