Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a  Software Developer Engineer in Test, Android  experienced in mobile app and web automation to join our team based in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate succeeds in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, and has a passion for both the business and the technology. You will be responsible for architecting and scaling a UI automation framework for the Chewy eCommerce mobile applications. We pride ourselves on the Chewy culture and are looking for teammates who value collaboration, innovative problem solving, and building quality products such that we continue to provide the best possible experience for our loyal pet parents.

 What You'll Do: 

  • Plan, build, and maintain a test automation framework using the latest and greatest automation tooling
  • Establish and educate the team on automation & testing best practices
  • Manage testing CI integration to ensure reliability and scalability
  • Educate through mentorship, pair programming, and code reviews
  • Ensure the technical solutions follow best practices and are reliable, easily maintainable, and scalable
  • Pair with our engineers, product managers, and manual quality teams to ensure proper test automation coverage
  • Provide feature and release readiness feedback to stakeholders and developers
  • Evaluate new tools and testing methodologies

 What You'll Need:

  • Work well in a distributed team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communication skills
  • Expertise with Java (or Kotlin), JavaScript, REST, HTML
  • Proven experience in writing high quality, reusable code with minimal defects
  • Experience with UI automation for Android, iOS, and Web
  • Experience creating automation infrastructure and large-scale automation test suites
  • Position may require travel

 Bonus:

  • Knowledge of Espresso, XCTest, Appium, Selenium
  • Knowledge of Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban)

Shinde credits an environment of continuous learning that has, to date, exposed her to more than a dozen new languages and tools.
