The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:

  • Expert in Linux administration including file systems, databases, and security
  • Solid understanding of information security operations and best practices
  • Experience in a web-scale environment including load balancing and containerization
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory administration
  • Experience with automating system and software deployments with Powershell, Bash, or Python
  • Experience installing, configuring, securing, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux servers (on-prem and in AWS)
  • Experience with log management systems such as Splunk or Graylog.
  • Experience in at least two scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, or Powershell
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and routing
  • Experience in troubleshooting, software configuration, and performance tuning for Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a public facing data center environment.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or technology related field
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage production infrastructure and supporting systems.
  • Involvement in team architectural discussions working within the company at large, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to work some off-hour shifts with a flexible schedule.
  • Mentoring junior IT and helpdesk personnel.
  • Working directly with key vendors to complete projects and troubleshoot issues.
  • Shared 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
  • Create, maintain, document and implement standards for server configurations, applications and operating systems.
  • Record and document incident requests per the Production IT Service Desk procedure.
  • Communicate with end users about their requests in a courteous manner.
  • Resolve incidents and complete work orders in a timely and courteous manner. 

Other desirable skills:

  • VMware experience
  • AWS Experience (EC2/S3/RDS/Etc.)
  • SQL or MySQL
  • Load test scripting; application monitoring and tuning proficiency
  • Java or python scripting skills
  • Docker Swarm or Kubernetes implementation and administration
  • Network performance troubleshooting capabilities including ARP, spanning tree, and network circularity issues
