Senior Director Solutions Architect for eCommerce is part of growing eCommerce transformation team at Shark Ninja. This team is focused on enabling best in class customer experience for our customers online and truly drive towards an Omnichannel experience.


The Senior Director Solutions Architect for eCommerce will be responsible for partnering closely with Product Teams to understand the initiatives to design and architect IT solutions that meet their needs. This person will also be responsible for defining the roadmap for e-Commerce at Shark Ninja. They will work closely with Development teams and act as a bridge between Product owners and Development teams to perform Proof of Concepts on provided design and technology, develop re-usable components etc.


This is a senior role in the organization which will help to develop a team of other architects and will help design the future state of technology at Shark Ninja.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s needs.
  • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Resolving technical problems as they arise.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to development teams.
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
  • Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
  • Work closely with Information Technology professionals within the company to ensure hardware is available for projects and working properly
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measure
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
  • Architect will need to perform at least 40-45% hands on development tasks
  • Strong understanding of e-Commerce ecosystems and processes that include end-to-end data flows and processing from order management, fulfilment, payments, customer service and other back-end systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with IT and business area experts with skills such as empathetic and active listening, and clearly and patiently articulate solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of various client side and server-side technologies
  • Perform Impact Analysis across enterprise systems and 3rd party solutions
  • Experience working with 3rd party service provider in application development and customer support
  • Ability to identify overall architectural principles, framework and standards. 
  • Diagnose complex technical and business problems and provide creative solutions
  • Provide assessments and recommendations on the design of e-commerce systems
  • Conduct feasibility assessment and impact analysis to support strategic and tactical business needs
  • Define the future state technology strategy for key business capabilities, align with key business and technology stake holders and establish vision and platform roadmap
  • Experience in headless architecture, progressive web apps and API Orchestration with an overarching focus on performance optimization
  • Understands performance measurements including Google core web vitals and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) guidelines like Service Failing Rate, Resilience, Infrastructure scaling etc.
  • Experience in implementation and integration of various solutions such as Product Information Management (PIM), Content Management Systems (CMS), Digital Asset Management (DAM) and A/B Testing Solutions
  • Strong understanding of Micro services, APIs
  • Demonstrated ability architecting multi-tenant systems and platforms with a focus on building reference applications, across a variety of platforms
  • Deep understanding of Payment and Order Management systems and integration concepts – REST, SOAP, Batch, SFTP, API Gateways
  • Experience working with performance monitoring and logging tools (like New Relic, Splunk and Dynatrace)
  • Experience in marketing orchestration strategies like Promotions Management, Loyalty management, Offer Management, Stored Value Management and Merchant Credit etc.
  • Knowledge of unified customer records and customer segmentation strategy
  • Cookies and geo-location
  • Understanding of consumer privacy laws and regulations/compliances as it relates to cookies, pixels, web scripts etc.
  • Experience working with tags and tag manager such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe and Telium

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years related experience in eCommerce
