What we’re building, and how you can help
At Tidelift, we are building a network of people who want to build and support better software. We see a world where everyone wins—where open source developers have abundant reasons to keep innovating and maintaining their creations, and open source users get software they can depend on. To find out more about us, check out our introductory blog post.

We're still small, so you will be able to play a large role building this network as part of a well-funded, experienced team. You’ll also have the chance to grow and improve Libraries.io, the largest database of open source projects on the web.

After a few years with us, you'd be able to say you were one of the first members of the team and helped build the foundation of this company.

We'd love to hear from you if you fit the description below
We’re looking for senior engineers who will be comfortable working across our stack. Our backend is mostly Ruby and of course there is JavaScript on the frontend. The backend includes APIs consumed by the frontend as well as a backend processing pipeline. As a senior engineer, you will lead the design for larger components of our product. At this level, in addition to being a generalist, there is probably an area where you consider yourself exceptionally strong which could be frontend development, operations, systems design, or perhaps skills we haven’t considered.

Our team and our values
We want a team where everyone cares about  cares about users, design, building a business, and one another. This team assessment spoke to our developers, and we want the whole company to score highly on similar measures of engagement and work quality as our culture grows.

We’re also aiming for work-life harmony: we believe in doing good work, with urgency and pragmatism, but at a sustainable pace. We value big impact over long hours.

Finally and critically, we value and celebrate diversity. We believe that the more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. So we're committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. In keeping with that commitment, we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other legally-protected status (including marital, veteran, or disability status).

Logistics

In this role, you would have the option to work remotely from the US and UK, or from our office in Boston. Hours can be flexible within reason if necessary to meet family or similar needs. (We are not looking to hire contractors or outsourced development teams).

Compensation is competitive with other Boston-area startups, including key benefits like health insurance, flexible vacation, and equity.
