Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure
Lose It! is available on iOS and Android where we've helped our members lose over 100 million pounds. Our product-first strategy has resulted in more than 1 million monthly active users that we're able to help live healthier lives.
As a Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team at Lose It! you'll help design and build new features, products, and capabilities on our backend infrastructure (in support of the users of our mobile apps) and our frontend and website. We believe that small teams of talented people can do great things, so we're looking for someone that can contribute to all phases of building a great product.
This full-time position is located in our Boston office (currently remote, with plans to be in the office two days a week starting October 2021).
What are we looking for in a team member?

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Comfortable coding and debugging in most of the stack - Java/Kotlin (or similar language), SQL, Redis, web servers, message queues
  • Experience with running workloads in a cloud provider - for instance Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc
  • Ability to be in an on-call rotation for production systems and can resolve issues with support of teammates in a timely fashion
  • Executes tactical efforts autonomously
  • High productivity; writes a lot of code
  • Very responsive; quickly adapts to code feedback
  • Supports teammates; makes the developers around them better
  • Highly influential within the Infrastructure team and across the company
  • A positive attitude and the ability to resolve issues with best practices, processes, and strategies

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 our employees have been working remotely from their homes and some office related benefits are currently not active and/or have shifted while employees are working remotely including the addition of a one time home office stipend to reimburse employees for equipment costs. While we would love to be back in the office soon, employee health is a priority for us. All employees will have the option to work remotely minimally through October 2021 and we will adjust that date if needed.
