Senior Front End Engineer (React)

We’re seeking a Senior Front-end Engineer to join the team responsible for edx.org. Our platform provides more than 25 million learners access to thousands of courses from reputable institutions. Interested in solving business and engineering problems that will have a global impact?

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable software systems using React.js
• Lead and inspire the front end engineering community of practice
• Help drive technical requirements working closing with Product Management, UX, and Data Science to understand business problems and identify solutions 
• Build single page applications and micro-frontends using modern JavaScript frameworks
• Provide mentorship to team members and assist with code reviews
• Promote teamwork and support a vibrant, innovative, and inclusive work atmosphere

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-stack coding, with 3+ years of front-end development
• Mastery of front-end component frameworks, including 2+ years in React and Redux
• Ability to problem solve, drive projects, communicate with stakeholders, and learn from both success and failures
• Track record of sharing knowledge with team members through mentoring, code reviews, pair programming, and presentations

Nice to have:

• Experience working with Python and Django
• Prior work experience with Optimizely 
• Experience with accessibility best practices and compliant front-end development standards
• BS in Computer Science or related experience
