About the team

HubSpot's product department is growing in Cambridge. Where our teams are building, designing and researching projects that go on to become living, breathing parts of our inbound marketing and sales products.

The HubSpot CMS powers over 70,000 domains, and is an extensible content management system that lets developers build templates and customizable modules which can be edited and populated by nontechnical content creators. These templates and modules can be developed by customers directly as well as shared and sold in the HubSpot Marketplace. The CMS also powers other HubSpot content features like the new Knowledge Base product.

The Design Platform team builds the CMS development platform, including the back-end of our WYSIWYG editing tools, online layout and code editor, and marketplace. We’re looking for a talented engineer who can help us design and build the next generation of development experience for the HubSpot CMS.

This includes defining and extending the HubL templating language, the marketplace distribution, and creating tools for developers to use to build, maintain, and upgrade HubSpot CMS template and modules.

If you’re:

• Someone that is looking to grow their career in a fast-paced, low bureaucracy environment. We work in small, customer-driven development teams of 5-6 people under the mentorship of a Tech Lead. You and your team set the goals, set the timelines, build the software, go to user tests, and carry the pager.
• A strong back-end engineer - We write lots of micro-services, primarily with Java 8. Our APIs are RESTful and use the minimal Dropwizard framework. We take advantage of Kafka, Spark, Hadoop for processing volumes of data.
• Experienced in working with (and ideally, extending with plugins) CMS platforms
• Interested in creating a compelling developer experience end-to-end
• Excited to join a super-smart, driven team
