Senior Security Engineer
Due to our growth we are adding a Senior Security Engineer to our talented team. We are currently focused on security from the top down: Mobile Device Management, Corporate deployment of Single sign-on, and deployment start-of-art Cloud best practices for securing the perimeter. We employ Security-as-code where we can and we are driving corporate security policies.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Senior Security Engineer uses advanced security knowledge and experience to fully administer technical security systems and provide recommendations to the organization. The Senior Security Engineer is a key player in improving the overall security posture of the company. This position requires a combination of deep cyber security expertise as well as cloud and ecommerce experience. This role is responsible for executing security programs and policies, installing, configuring, operating and maintaining security applications. The Senior Security Engineer is responsible to investigate and resolve security alerts. This position acts as a primary member of the Security and Incident Response Team. The Senior Security Engineer must possess a solid knowledge of both short- and long-term business goals and will work across functional boundaries and collaborate with other departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Understands the organizational direction, goals, and industry environment to determine how the security architecture can add value to the organization and to business.
• Substantially contributes to the information security roadmap.
• Conducts internal application penetration testing and vulnerability scanning and leading the remediation effort.
• Identifies and assesses new and emerging security software, products, methods, techniques and evaluates relevance of these for the organization.
• Successfully installs, configures, implements and maintains approved security tools and policies.
• Works with various RGG teams including, but not limited to: Technical Services and Support (TSS), Infrastructure, Information Technology, Retail Systems, Store Front, Customer Service, and Loss Prevention.
• Interacts with third party security contractors and vendors.
• Works with and provides guidance to the security engineers and security analysts of the department.
• Resourcefully resolves daily security alerts by conducting security investigations.
• Provide expert technical security support to the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years of cyber security experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience implementing and maintaining security technology including experience with the following: MFA, LAN, WAN, MDM, Firewall, AV, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) applications, and Intrusion Detection & Prevention (IDP) systems.
• Demonstrated planning and organizing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• Proven track-record of operating with a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of modern cyber security best practices.
• Knowledge of wireless technologies, protocols, encryption standards, network management, and analysis tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of: anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, network security measures, data privacy practices laws
• At least one of these security qualifications: CISSP, CCSK/CCSP, CISSP-ISSEP/ISSAP, CEH, CISM, Security+ or equivalent.
• Experience working in an AWS environment is required.
• Experience with Akamai Bot Manager, Rapid7, Azure Activity Directory Administration or similar tools.
• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent program is desired.
