Senior Research Scientist (Optical Engineering)
At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance. WHOOP empowers members (Olympians, Professional Athletes, Fitness Enthusiasts, etc.) to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. We’re looking for a Senior Research Scientist who is excited to work with physiological data and can help us identify and evaluate cutting edge sensor technologies and find ways to leverage the data they produce to provide value to our members.
As a Senior Research Scientist on the R&D team, you’ll help develop the next generation of optical sensing technology. You’ll work at the intersection of hardware, software, and analytics to design the optical sensors that power the WHOOP product. You’ll leverage simulations to inform sensor design and collaborate with engineering in the construction of prototypes. You’ll help analyze the collected data in an iterative process to inform further sensor designs. You’ll formalize, document, and refine your learnings in the process of filing valuable patents and creating intellectual property. Your efforts will ultimately aid in the deployment of cutting-edge technology to the marketplace, helping our members live healthier and happier lives.
