In the Automation/Quality Engineer role, you will be an integral part of the engineering team responsible for steering release initiatives with other engineers on the team.
What you'll do
- Influence the building of software before it’s built
- Responsible for evaluating the state of pre-production environmentsInfluence production release decisions
- Create new manual test procedures and documentation
- Maintain and grow existing test procedures and scripts
- Partner with the engineering organization to ensure new and existing features are delivered with the highest quality standards
- Work with the the Quality Team to determine effective processes for catching bugs
- Develop strategies that maintain automated scripts against an ever-changing software platform by partnering with the Product Engineering Team
- Ease into developing automated testing scripts to execute the manual test procedures
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience providing manual quality assurance and a willingness to learn how to automate existing manual tests
- Knowledgeable at performing manual tests and documenting findings in a clear and reproducible format
- Experience writing UI and REST API manual and/or automated tests
- Experience testing modern web apps using tools like Postman, browser developer tools, etc.
- Experience working with Github/Gitlab, Jira, modern code editors, and testing software
- Interested in establishing company-wide engineering processes
- Understanding of Playwright or another test automation framework (nice to have)
- Prior experience in a start-up or agile environment (nice to have)
- Experience using performance testing frameworks (Gatling, Locust, k6, JMeter, etc.) (nice to have)
