Superpedestrian is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to join our growing test team to ensure the delivery of a robust software stack for our industry-leading scooter service. The ideal candidate has strong skills designing and implementing performance testing initiatives, with strong experience with APIs, large data volumes and automation, working in collaboration with systems architects and development teams. This is a senior position responsible for developing innovative, scalable solutions, driving the release of a high performing platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with systems architects, developers, testing and devops engineers to capture functional and nonfunctional requirements in order to achieve system performance goals.
  • Design, implement and drive the adoption of new performance testing tools, standards, and processes.
  • Drive the implementation of performance testing environments, including the acquisition of large data volumes for “production equivalent” testing.
  • Create new solutions for automation, integrating performance testing with the CI/CD pipelines.
  • Generate reports on performance test results, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
  • Use Agile methods (Scrum/Kanban) to organize project deliverables and track/report on progress.

Who you are:

  • Bachelors degrees in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with performance testing
  • 5+ years of experience with high-load distributed systems that are operational 24/7
  • Expert in performance testing strategies, practices, and frameworks
  • Strong experience with testing tools and monitoring (JMeter, Locust, HP LoadRunner or similar)
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, NodeJS (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with REST API standards
  • Experience with SQL optimization and relational databases (Postgres)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases is desired (Redis)
  • Experience with AWS cloud solutions (VPC, EC2, S3 and others)
  • Experience with markup languages (JSON, XML, YAML)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, Firewall, Routing, Proxy, Load Balancing)
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins or similar)
  • Strong understanding of Agile development
