Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking to hire a Senior Performance Engineer at our Boston, MA location. Our Performance Engineering team is an essential team to making sure our Chewy website and it’s many components perform optimally to ensure the best customer experience. You’ll be working with a team of highly talented engineers that push the team to move forward and excel. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to discuss complex technical concepts with a diverse audience across all areas of the organization. They will remain calm under pressure and always strive to add structure to high-pressure, fast paced tasks or projects.

What You'll Do:

You’ll develop complex scripts that will mirror customer interactions
You’ll work with several teams within IT to further develop the scripts and ensure they best reflect the actions desired
Act as a technology, platform, and Devops evangelist
Review and provide constructive feedback to engineering solutions, architectural designs, and application workflows as it pertains to the E-commerce platforms
Provide key metrics that will help shape the overall strategy of our key events
Work with peers to identify areas for improvement of Performance Engineering support of and partnership with development teams and Platform Engineering
Build an automation framework that allows us to succeed in a more efficient rate
Present data to key stakeholders to show overall performance of the site

What You'll Need:

At least 5 years of experience in the performance engineering space
Experience using Gatling, Locust, or any performance tools
Experience in creating test scripts, and using performance tools
Strong experience with virtualization, monitoring, and automation
Application development experience with various languages
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Able to work with minimum supervision while delivering projects in a fast paced environment
Position may require some travel
