Senior Mechanical Engineer
Bevi is on a mission to disrupt the beverage supply chain and replace single-use water bottles with smart water machines. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a leading role in designing our next generation of products. Working with a small cross-functional team, this individual will be responsible for researching new solutions, designing new components and systems and owning those designs through the product development process. This is an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of product engineering in a fast-paced startup, starting with research and advanced development our our next-generation system.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Bevi, you will
- Research, design, analyze, prototype and test hardware systems
- Help define product requirements by determining what is possible and practical from an engineering standpoint
- Lead the development of systems or subsystems and integrate into a single delivered product
- Work with suppliers and subject matter experts to design manufacturable, cost-effective components and assemblies
- Develop and execute tests to reduce risk and build product reliability
- Contribute to the design review process for other systems
- Drive work independently while managing ambiguity
- Be proactive in managing and communicating risk
Requirements
You will bring:
- BSME or MSME plus 5+ years relevant work experience in complex system design that requires integration of mechanical and electrical components
- Solid skills in and strong knowledge of engineering principles, applied science, mathematics, and analytical thinking.
- Systems design approach with strong tradeoff analysis skills and ability to drive to a final solution while evaluating multiple alternatives simultaneously
- Hands-on skills coupled with an instinct for experimentation.
- Experience doing rapid development in a fast-paced environment
- Professional experience with various manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, and casting, and knowledge of materials used in these processes
- Proficiency in CAD systems such as SolidWorks (preferred); skill in a range of analytical methods and tools.
- Experience designing fluid or compact refrigeration / heat exchange systems is a plus
- Well organized and excellent communication skills, to both technical and non-technical audiences
