Job Title: Senior Engineer – Cloud Data Academy

Slalom Consulting is building out an exciting new Cloud Data Academy aimed at cross-training engineering professionals on the latest cloud platforms and data technologies!

As a hands-on Senior Engineer, you’ll have an opportunity to develop and design innovative solutions with the latest data and cloud technologies. The individuals in these roles may work in either a pure development role, help architect and design a solution, or act as a technical lead. The ideal candidate is invigorated by new challenges, seeks out new learning opportunities, leads from the front, challenges the status quo, and builds the skills of team members through technical and professional coaching.

Responsibilities: 

  • Be an active member of a growing team; help define and influence team culture & environment
  • Work on a wide range of projects for the world’s top companies
  • Assist with estimating work efforts required for each phase of a project
  • Work in a fast-paced, agile project environment with small, focused teams
  • Work on rapid prototyping projects with cutting-edge technologies
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 25%

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of development experience
  • Ability to program in Java, C#, .NET, Python, Objective-C, or Swift
  • Familiarity with multiple database environments and tools, including strong proficiency with SQL
  • Knowledge of database design and application design patterns
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functional/technical teams to deliver a project
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, QA processes, and TDD
  • Display a passion for data and analytics and a drive to improve technically
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply the gained knowledge to address business problems

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Python and/or Java development
  • Familiar with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.)
  • Mentored and developed fellow engineers
