As a Senior Engineer on the Billing Team, the software you write will provide all DigitalOcean customers a view into the billing details for their accounts. You will focus on continuing to provide customers a clean, easy to understand and easy to use billing system. You will also work across the broader organization to ensure the billing experience scales effectively for new products and new customers. If your passion is building products that customers rely on every day, this is the right job for you. This role can be worked at remotely or from our offices in NYC and Cambridge, MA.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Build and maintain the world-class billing platform for DigitalOcean
• Drive architecture, design decisions and best practices within the team
• Work with teams across DigitalOcean to ensure we are developing and implementing simple, intuitive and robust billing solutions for all of our products
• Build relationships with vendors and partners to deliver strong, complete solutions that meet customer needs and DO's business objectives

What Expect Of You:

• Significant domain experience with subscription billing systems and/or expertise in SaaS billing cycles
• Significant experience creating software that consumes or generates large amounts of data, demonstrating a high level of reliability and performance
• Expertise with one or more of the following languages: Go, Ruby
• Proficiency with datastores, Docker/container technologies, and configuration management tools
• An analytical mind that understands billing related data, including run-rate, product pricing, monthly invoicing, credits, adjustments and refunds
• Ability to contribute throughout all phases of a service lifecycle from conception through design, development, deployment, and ultimately operation
