BHE’s mission is to improve healthcare through innovative analytics. Our team has built a next-generation analytics platform, Instant Health Data (IHD), to bring researchers together to generate insights into improving population health, quality of care, and managing costs.

Our team is looking for talented individuals who want to bring our platform to the next level, expanding into new markets. The Senior Systems Engineer reports to the CTO and manages BHE’s IT infrastructure and systems. The incumbent is responsible for defining the technology architecture, management, and documentation of technical solutions and aligned projects. Works with the CTO to ensure that technology solutions are properly architected ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Leads DevOps team, focused on efficient operation of day-to-day IT activities and end user support
• Helps establish IT policies, processes, and security measures ensuring effective and consistent operations to safeguard information resources
• Manages HITRUST and other regulatory requirements
• Develops and maintains current and future state enterprise architecture solutions and related documentation and oversees system design and architecture changes
• Assists CTO with the selection of enterprise-wide technologies and provides IT governance
• Manages technical aspects of integration projects
• Establishes and maintains DevOps strategies
• Responsible for configuration, optimization, documentation, and support of infrastructure components that host the customer-facing production applications
• Supports and troubleshoots scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backup and restores of different environments

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar
• 10+ years’ relevant experience, including experience in software environments with SaaS and Data teams
• Experience with HIRUST, HIPAA and/or PCI compliance
• Experience with configuration management in Chef, Puppet, and Linux
• Experience with datacenter operations
• Outstanding technical planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask across number work streams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to understand and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience managing mission critical systems with strict SLAs
• Strong windows and mac expertise
