The Role
We are looking for a Sr. Android Engineer to help us build awesome Android apps. This person will work on platforms that impact millions of users for the Aura Mobile application and other security products within our suite.
Responsibilities
- You will collaborate with Engineering leaders, Product, Design, and Server teams to design, develop and create Android applications with rapid release cycle prototypes.
- You will also have a relentless focus on quality code and improve our code base through continuous refactoring.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail and quality oriented, as well as passionate about having a huge impact in providing privacy and security to millions of our users.
Qualifications
- Android Developer with 5+ years of development experience using Android SDK
- Java (5+ years)
- Good knowledge of Android OS architecture
- Proficiency with Android API: activities, fragments, content providers, services, etc.
- Familiarity with RxJava, Retrofit, Dagger, and MVP design
- Good understanding of Android UI (layouts, etc.)
- Experience with Web services (experience integrating with web services i.e. RESTful APIs/JSON/XML for Android apps)
- Comfortable with unit testing and rapid release cycles
- Proficient in object-oriented analysis, design and implementation
- Applied knowledge of software engineering and best practices such as testing, documentation and code reviews
- Ability to work on tasks with minimum supervision
- A collaborative approach, being open to help team member
- Work with third-party dependencies and debug dependency conflicts
- A track record of published applications to the Google Play Store
- BS/MS CS or related engineering degree
Nice To Have
- Experience working with React Native Framework
- Experience working with native libraries in Android (JNI)
- Experience working with Android NDK
- C/C++ development experience
- Familiar with computer networks and network protocols.
- Prior experience developing high traffic app on Android
