We are looking for a Lead Android Engineer who is passionate, creative, curious about mobile technology, and has experience with native platforms including Kotlin, Java, Android Studio, and object-oriented design or architecture. You will be joining a team of highly dynamic and collaborative engineers that are changing the way people live their lives.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Translating user stories into software solutions

• Working closely with product managers and scrum masters to understand the business problems.
• Collaborating with designers to ensure we deliver the optimal user experience.
• Validating design approach with other team members.
• Writing automated tests to ensure code is of the highest quality.

Delivering multi-year technology roadmaps

• Identifying processes, tooling, and feature improvements that can have a multiplicative effect on the engineering productivity.
• Identifying new capabilities that emergent technologies or processes can unlock. 
• Developing a multi-year roadmap for implementing technical and process improvements.
• Leading delivery of large technology improvements.

Mentoring Software Engineers

• Working closely with software engineers to guide their technical and career growth.

Debugging and fixing production issues

• Working with our customer support team to debug and fix bugs affecting our users.

Demonstrating Wellframe’s technical contributions

• Writing blog posts and giving talks at conferences to give back to the technical community.

Skills and experience

• A B.S. or M.S. degree in any science or engineering field or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of native mobile Android and iOS development experience, including publishing commercial apps.
• Deep familiarity with Kotlin, design patterns, and SOLID architecture.
• Ability to write code that is well structured, idiomatic, reusable, and easy to understand.
• Passion for benchmarking and optimizing, with a preference for writing clean, test-driven code.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Java

• MVVM architecture
• Restful API
• Experience with UI/UX
