Regulatory Engineer
RightHand Robotics (RHR) is building a world-class team to solve the biggest problem in ecommerce logistics: how to fulfill orders, despite demand that’s growing at six times the rate of available labor. Our cutting-edge robotic picking systems manipulate hundreds of thousands of items -- it’s a software-driven, hardware-enabled technology that meets the increasing demands of e-commerce order fulfillment and related industries.
We’re looking for a Regulatory Engineer to join our growing hardware team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the company’s robotic workcells have received all certifications necessary for them to be deployed to our customers’ facilities (focusing initially on the EU, North America, and Japan). You will lead the effort to comply with international standards for machinery, safety, EMC, and other regulations. You will then coordinate the compilation of final documentation and testing results, and ensure that compliance markings can be applied to our products.
You Will:
- Ensure that we maintain complete and accurate technical documentation as the product evolves (update CE technical file, test reports, external consultant reports, etc.)
- Work as both an individual contributor and project manager to direct the resources necessary for success, whether they are internal (engineering, product, legal) or external (leveraging consultants, 3rd party testing laboratories, and external SME’s as necessary)
- Establish project plans and drive execution on all compliance related activity:
- Identify risks and requirements,
- Identify and manage project resources,
- Create level of effort and schedule estimates,
- Track cost and effort against plans,
- Keep leadership informed about project status and roadblocks
- Provide critical strategic input to the senior leadership team, define requirements and risks associated with international expansion opportunities and new markets
You Are (or You Have):
- Experience with domestic and international standards for electrical and machinery safety and EMC (ISO 12100, IEC 60204-1, IEC 61000, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to drive progress effectively in a cross-functional role
- Intense attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency with documentation control systems and best practices
Bonus Points:
- Experience with international robotics standards (ISO 10218-1, 10218-2)
