Role Summary
Magna New Mobility, the newest division of Magna International, is focused on innovating sustainable mobility solutions for the future. We are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to assist in developing our greenfield core software platform. This Principal Cloud Engineer role will be hybrid in our Lowell, Massachusetts office or can be based in Troy, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, execution, and upkeep of cloud architecture solutions that are both highly scalable and resilient.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deeply comprehend business requirements and transform them into streamlined software solutions.
• Offer technical mentorship and leadership to junior engineers, actively supporting their skill advancement and fostering an atmosphere of perpetual learning.
• Evaluate novel cloud technologies and tools, providing recommendations for their seamless integration and adoption to enhance overall system efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews, deliver constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and exemplary practices.
• Collaborate intimately with DevOps teams to implement efficient CI/CD pipelines, effectively facilitating prompt and dependable software delivery.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Possess significant hands-on experience in Object-Oriented programming models and a proven track record in Golang and MongoDB for production-level projects.
• Demonstrate familiarity with contemporary distributed software architecture patterns, microservices, message queues like Kafka and SQS, and cloud-based solutions.
• Expertise in developing APIs, including REST, gRPC and GraphQL, and possess cloud development experience for native deployment.
• Experience in working with any of the public cloud providers, AWS strongly preferred
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to cloud data security, such as GDPR, PCI, or ISO 27001.
