Brief Description

The Principal Architect is responsible for analytical leadership during the review of metrics captured by the VirtualWisdom platform, both through development and delivery of presentations as well as during real-time availability/performance event diagnosis. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of Fibre-Channel and SAN fundamentals, NAS and TCP/IP fundamentals, as well as a solid foundation in SAN/NAS Storage design, virtualization strategies and application performance.  As a senior member of the Services Delivery organization this position provides advanced technical consultative services during the pre- and post-sales cycle. Focus of responsibilities for this position will key on tailored training curriculum around content development and customer delivery allowing customer enablement and operationalization.

Responsibilities

The Principal Architect – Enablement and Adoption is responsible for:

 Leading customers and partners through tailored training, enablement and adoption initiatives

  • Assessing a customer’s infrastructure and operations maturity level and readiness and identifying a path to full operationalization and value through training and enablement activities
  • Analyzing and reviewing the customer’s VirtualWisdom data to advise and emphasize areas of focus for operationalization while leveraging standard enablement content including training content, operationalization runbooks, checklists, and other materials
  • Supporting the development and continued improvement of Services and customer-facing enablement best practices and materials
  • Working with the customer, partners and Services account team to recommend and implement the operationalization plan
  • Providing guidance, education and recommendations for adoption of new features by customers and partners
  • Providing “deep dive” technical overviews on VI products and features as part of enablement activities
  • Working with the Customer Success team to identify opportunities to broaden and deepen customer adoption of VI products
  • Delivering on-site and remote training and knowledge transfer sessions to customer technical staff and partner technical teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical degree (or Equivalent)

Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of Fibre Channel fundamentals 
  • Deep understanding of the architecture of one of the Top 5 Storage Vendors 
  • Minimum of seven or more years of experience with SAN/Storage design, virtualization strategies and application performance 
  • Minimum of seven or more years of diverse technical or professional experience in different industries and business models 
  • Excellent consultative skills; written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong ability to graphically illustrate complex concepts 

Desired:

  • Prior work experience on behalf of or in service to EMC
  • In-depth knowledge of iSCSI, NFS and SMB fundamentals 
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet and associated protocols 
  • Experience in Software Defined Storage solutions 
  • Knowledge in Application Performance Management Suites 
  • Systems and technical support experience from vendor/consulting environments 
  • Cisco/Brocade Storage Area Network certifications and/or equivalent experience
  • VMWare Certified Professional Certification, VCP 
  • Experience in delivering education training curriculums 

Travel Requirement: 20% - 40% travel
