Operations Engineer

We are presently seeking a talented and self-motivated Engineer to work in our Operations department supporting Special Projects. The ideal candidate will have relevant project experience driving key initiatives in a focused and data driven manner.

The Operations Engineer will be responsible for:

• Supporting Special Projects Team to drive initiatives associated with improving product quality, manufacturability, cost, time-to-market, and customer experience
• Coordination between internal Design Engineering teams, Operations, Suppliers and Contract Manufacturer to drive effective communication
• Review of existing operating procedures, systems, products and schedules to identify and oversee implementation of modifications and improvements
• Identify and implement cost down opportunities through collaborative DFM with internal design teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturer
• Identification and technical qualification of new materials, specifications, manufacturing methods, and vendors
• On-site support to ensure efficient production transfer and issue resolution (up to 25% travel)
• Development and documentation of manufacturing methods, procedures, and test results
• Supporting cross-functional root cause and corrective action activities
• Supporting Supply Chain and Supplier Quality with vendor audits and issue resolution

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of applicable Manufacturing/Operations Engineering experience in related field
• Deep experience with DFM for complex electromechanical systems
• Highly knowledgeable of industrial materials and modern fabrication, assembly and manufacturing techniques
• Ability to interpret and modify Engineering design documentation (schematics, drawings, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to manage design release and document control
• Proficient with mechanical and electrical tools used in product development of electromechanical systems (common hand tools, drills, presses, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways
• Demonstrated ability to process and analyze data to drive improvements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• BS/MS Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• Understanding of safety systems and functionally safe design
