HPR is seeking a System Network Engineer to design, build, deploy, automate, and monitor HPR’s global infrastructure. As the first full-time Network Engineer in a rapidly growing, early stage FinTech company, you’ll be collaborating with developers, designers, and programmers who live and breathe innovation. As a System Network Engineer at HPR you will:

  • Design, build, deploy, automate, and monitor HPR’s global infrastructure
  • Develop cutting-edge networking technology used by the world’s top financial institutions
  • Perform packet inspection on financial application aware switches
  • Support HPR IT operations
  • Collaborate directly with clients and data center operations

Required Qualifications

  • MS/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
  • 1-7 years of relevant work experience within similar environment
  • Professional skills in Linux, distributed systems, networking, monitoring and automation.
  • Experience with complex infrastructure deployments
  • A passion and knowledge of High-Performance networking
  • Aptitude to be multi-dimensional, acting as both a SysAdmin and Network Engineer
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams using a software and hardware stack
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with a configuration management tool such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

Desired Qualifications

  • Financial market knowledge
  • Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCIE SP, Network Programmability)
  • Familiarity of C and C++

What’s the vibe like in the office?

HPR strikes a great team vibe in the office. Everyone gets along, is super helpful, friendly, and hard-working. I haven't experienced a more comfortable work setting than at HPR. What does your typical day look like?

HPR has a very collaborative environment, so I always spend at least a bit of time everyday working with the more junior engineers and our clients. Typically there are a few daily meetings, and in the afternoons I almost always have time to focus on my projects and coding.
