GelSight develops portable, non-destructive elastomeric 3D imaging systems used to improve quality control processes in aerospace, automotive and other high-value industries. GelSight’s proprietary technology provides extremely detailed and rapid surface measurements through an elastomeric sensor technology invented at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

We recently closed our Series B funding round and we’re looking forward to using these funds to grow our team. A critical early hire for us is a Software Engineer who will contribute to the development and management of GelSight Touch software, our application for fast, intuitive measurement, quality control and reporting. This person will work with management to define and manage the software road map, prioritize and schedule software features, and be responsible for user experience.

This position reports directly to the CEO and is based out of Boston, MA.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead the maintenance and improvement of our existing GelSight Touch software, our application for fast, intuitive measurement, quality control and reporting.
  • Contribute to the definition and management of the software road map and release schedule.
  • Hands-on execution including the development, debugging, and optimization of systems.
  • Responsible for user experience, and prioritization and schedule of software features.
  • Drive the development of UI/UX based on user feedback.
  • Port software solution to multiple operating systems and devices.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science with 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with UI/UX design and implementation.
  • Strong C++ and C# skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, working with 2D and 3D data, and with an aptitude for software product management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to work independently or in team environments under deadlines.
  • Proactive problem solving.
