Summary

LevelUp is seeking a talented individual to join our Platform engineering team. As a Master Problem Solver (MPS) you will gain an understanding of how all aspects of our backend platform, mobile apps, and POS integrations work together to place orders, charge customers, apply rewards, and accrue loyalty points. You will use that knowledge to diagnose issues, solve mysteries, and make improvements across the company. The MPS position requires a mix of technical acumen and product expertise, and is an excellent entry point into a fast-paced, dynamic startup for those interested in software development, operations, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported problems and unexpected behavior
• Diagnose, triage, and repair problems by analyzing logs, database queries, code, and more. In some cases you may need to replicate the issue using the apps involved, or by manually crafting API requests
• Coordinate with engineers to address issues in a timely fashion
• Proactively identify opportunities for new or improved internal tools, and assist in their specification and development

This Job Might Be a Fit If You:

• Are a passionate problem solver, capable of prioritizing and delivering solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Are self-motivated, and have a high energy driven personality with the ability to follow through on assignments
• Are familiar with writing SQL queries and have experience with project management tools (we use Jira)
• Are awesome. And ready to work with awesome people!
• Have a Bachelor’s degree

Bonus Points if You:

• Are familiar with software development (e.g. know how to code, work with developers, etc.) and have experience working with Ruby on Rails
• Appreciate .gifs
• Are a quick study and love to learn how things work
