Lead QA Engineer

*note: this is a US based role.

Cambridge Semantics Inc. is looking for a Lead QA Engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity for an experienced QA engineer with a keen eye for detail, who can ensure that our software products are developed and released at the highest level of quality standards. This individual will focus primarily on Manual testing and be responsible for software testing design, planning, and execution for a variety of customer-facing applications.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and validate requirements and technical specifications
  • Develop and execute test plans and detail test cases based on requirements and/or customer feedback and prioritization
  • Document test cases, test plan, and test results
  • Continuously improve existing test suite and overall product quality
  • Manage testing efforts across many varied projects and tasks under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with the development team on bug fix verification and validation
  • Coordinate with QA automation team and determine the tests to be automated       
  • Provide information to the QA automation team for their automation tasks as needed
  • Support, design, develop, and enhance test processes and reporting for QA team
  • Communicate professionally at all levels within the organization
  • Mentor and provide training assistance to Associate QA Engineers

Successful Candidates will have the following:

  • Minimum 5 years quality assurance experience as software tester and 2+ years as a QA Lead.
  • Thorough working knowledge of software testing methodologies and the testing life cycle
  • Experience with Databases
  • Experience with Test Management tools
  • Experience with Linux
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development Methodologies
  • Self-starter and team player mindset as you work side by side with the QA and development team
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Scripting language like Python is desirable
  • Experience with automated testing tools or equivalent automation skills is a plus.
  • Experience with graph databases, graph algorithms is a plus
