Position Summary:With over 21 billion web hits a month and scores of database servers storing hundreds of terabytes of data and a multitude of tables, data is at the very core of our success.
We are in search of a hands-on Senior/Principal Level Developer to be a key contributor to our Data Warehousing/ETL projects. You will become the subject matter expert on content and relationship between core elements of the data warehouse. You will develop cross functional relationships and processes to ensure good data warehouse design, performance and scalability.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Technical Execution:
- Key contributor to data warehouse design, data access, data integration and data engineering operations
- Serve as hands-on analyst, technologist and database architect who has deep experience in data warehousing
- Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to others in the area of database design, infrastructure architecture and integration with BI and Data Modeling tools
- Identify and evaluate technologies for data warehousing and ETL
- Identify and validate software and infrastructure components required to implement technical solutions
- Maintain cross functional relationships with diverse product teams, system architects, data scientists and data engineers
- Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical solutions
Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
- Extensive knowledge of data warehousing, relational database design, database infrastructure architecture and BI tools
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in database design, coding, optimization, troubleshooting, profiling and testing (RDBMS and NoSQL)
- Strong ETL and data integration experience in developing ETL mappings and scripts
- 5+ years of experience with designing and implementing commercial data warehouses and data marts, including integration with commercial BI tools
- Contributed to the development of commercial software/systems deployed at Cloud scale
- Extensive experience with SQL, Python and shell scripting; in-depth understanding of OLTP and OLAP
- Experience with healthcare/pharma/biotech domains is desirable
- Experience with Cloud based databases and data warehouses is desirable
- Experience with Agile SDLC
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
