Overview

As a Lead Front End Engineer, you will lead the Innovation Labs’ front end development efforts on a new web-based data science product. In this role, you will have the opportunity to problem solve, drive projects to success, communicate with stakeholders, and learn from both success and failures as part of a dynamic, friendly and ambitious team with technical influence throughout Alteryx and beyond.

 

Responsibilities

  • Architect large scale projects using modern Javascript frames (React and Redux)
  • Work closely with UI/UX team to provide feedback on designs and transform them into functioning user-facing products
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership on the technical and product roadmap
  • Consume and inform the design of machine learning and data science APIs that powers the application
  • Incorporate user feedback to improve the product
  • Author new features, from conception and design to implementation and testing
  • Promote a culture of rigorous software development practice and high quality standards
  • Mentor and coach up more junior team members

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in front-end web development
  • Track record of sharing knowledge with team members through mentoring, code reviews, pair programming, and presentations
  • Experience writing production-quality code in Javascript, including a recent React project
  • Experience writing clear and effective documentation
  • Experience with Git, Amazon Web Services (EC2, S2, Lambda)
  • Experience with automated testing and tools like Jest, Cypress, CircleCI, Github Actions, Selenium, etc.

 

Bonus

  • Built and maintained a component library
  • Experience with data visualization
  • Experience with API design
  • Demonstrated (in your portfolio) eye for design and solving real-world user problems
  • Working knowledge with other server/web technologies (Python, NodeJS, Java, etc.)
  • Contributions to open-source frameworks and/or libraries
