The role of Lead Application Engineer will build custom solutions for both internal and external clients, writing production-quality solutions. This person will be very hands-on, automating and implementing new solutions to quickly provide value across the organization. To do this, the Lead Application Engineer will work cross-functionally, capturing business requirements from various stakeholders to drive customer value. As a Lead, this person will also build the Application Engineering team, developing and managing team members. We are looking for someone who wants to mentor others while using a strong passion for data and automation to provide value in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a roadmap and backlog of Application Engineering demands
• Understand and document inventory of existing solutions and tools (SharePoint, Google Sheets, etc.)
• Work with Software Engineering, Data Sciences, IT, and Architecture teams to define process for transition from Application Engineering to a long-term solution/support
• Collaborate with team to suggest a data input tool
• Build and begin implementing staffing plan to expand Application Engineering team
• Own scripting, solution, and integration of new tracking tool

• 5+ years experience working with data technology solutions
• Strong experience building production-quality custom applications
• Experience integrating with APIs (ex. Salesforce)
• Some experience writing SQL reports and database technologies
• Experience building enterprise-grade solutions under tight timelines
  • Experience as a product owner, prioritizing a backlog
• Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions using agile methodology
• Experience working in multiple languages/environments (ex. Salesforce, Ruby, Python, SQL, etc.)
• Proven experience building, leading, managing, and developing a team
• Experience integrating business apps into Google Sheets
• Expert-level Excel skills
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers (internal and external) to gather, document, and gain signoff on requirements
