As an Infrastructure Security Engineer on the Security team, you’ll ensure the highest level of security standards for our infrastructure and production applications. Your work will provide innovative security instrumentation and secure architectures in DigitalOcean’s environments, both corporate and customer facing. Our customers trust us with their data and operations, and we take that responsibility seriously. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design and build security capabilities in a fast-paced, engineering-oriented organization.
• Implement instrumentation to predict, detect, and prevent malicious actors, internal or external.
• Provide our business with secure means to segment and securely access critical infrastructure and applications.
• Conduct security testing to detect and remediate issues in our network, systems, and code.
• Continuously seek ways to reduction friction for our engineers and our customers while improving our security posture.
• Partner with engineering teams to make sure that we deliver an excellent and secure workflow spanning development, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Conduct application security testing to detect and remediate insecure code and libraries.
• Enable our security monitoring and response teams by harvesting actionable intelligence from security monitoring and logging technologies.

What We’ll Expect From You:

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the following areas: access management, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security.
• Working knowledge of distributed architectures and heavily virtualized environments.
• Baseline understanding of software coding/scripting languages.
• A high degree of curiosity, with a clear passion around security as a lifestyle.
• You approach each problem with a degree  with a degree of creativity that uses previous internal/external approaches as a data point, not a rulebook.
• Ability to work with engineers, with a working knowledge of software engineering, and continuous integration and delivery environments.
• A strong partnership with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to collaborate on delivering a secure platform in support of DigitalOcean’s growth expectations.
