The Role

This role will contribute to various parts of the tech stack, building out new internal product features or external API integrations. They will work closely with other functions to create solutions on both the front and back-end that promote an automated underwriting process and simplified user experience for our customers.

What you'll do

• Contribute to various parts of the tech stack to implement APIs or technology solutions relevant to the underwriting process or user experience
• Collaborate cross-functionally to conceptualize new technology features for internal or customer-facing solutions
• Work with Product and Design teams to build product framework with a reliable, scalable code base
• Engage with other team members to learn how to structure new technology offerings most efficiently by understanding internal and end-user requirements
• Work with other teams to manage project deadlines and address outstanding technical issues

What you bring to the party

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Experience with various front-end technologies such as React, JSON, CSS, HTML5 and more
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented PHP and frameworks (Yii, Laravel, Symfony, Cake PHP etc.)
• Strong understanding of MVC design patterns
• Familiarity with SQL databases and their declarative query languages
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or Bitbucket
• Ability to build, deploy, and maintain web applications
• Proficiency with software tools needed to operate effectively at scale in a production environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
