As an Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with our CTO and be responsible for the overall standards and direction of all architecture domains including business, application, data, and operations. The primary objective being that architecture supports both business needs and performance goals. This role will also participate in support of solution development, governance, and architecture planning processes.

Our API platform is a micro-service architecture built in Java/Spring behind a suite of web apps in Rails leveraging modern javascript frameworks like React. Our infrastructure is hosted in AWS natively and through Heroku’s PaaS offering for our UI, while leveraging Jenkins for our CI/CD pipeline. A heavy focus will be on data architecture as we look to evolve our structure and tooling. This environment will need continuous improvement and flexibility to keep pace with our challenging business objectives, so we view the role of enterprise architect as critical for our continued success.

Your​ ​objectives:

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards
  • Support the development and implementation of the architecture roadmap
  • Translate business priorities into architecture requirements
  • Collaborate with domain architects to develop architecture roadmaps for all architecture domains
  • Identify architecture gaps and inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements and alignment
  • Assist in identification and development of new Enterprise Architecture assets, standards and frameworks
  • Drive innovation and architect new product features and functionality
  • Understand the tradeoffs between performance, scale, and business value
  • Enable successful product/feature delivery through close collaboration of cross-functional teams
  • Support the product team and planning process to deliver great products and ensure all deadlines and needs of the business are being met
  • Participate in architectural discussions to build confidence and maintain integrity in our cloud architecture
  • Research industry-wide architecture and technology trends for the respective domain and present relevant point-of-views
  • Review project architectures for compliance with enterprise standards as part of the Architecture Review Committee and make domain-specific recommendations
  • Manage and direct the activities of up to three direct reports

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 7+ years design & implementation experience with distributed applications
  • 4+ years architecting and implementing cloud infrastructure and topologies
  • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure or database architecture
  • quick thinker with the ability to evaluate and leverage new technologies
  • Ability to deliver high-quality results under aggressive timelines and budgets
