We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will be instrumental in growing the development team, guiding the development approach, and mentoring engineers to achieve their short and long term goals.

Our tech:

• We currently use Rails 5, React.js, and GraphQL with Relay, but we are constantly evolving and aren’t afraid to try new things. We also believe that smart people with open minds and related experience can pick up any new technology or stack quickly.

What you'll do as an Engineering Manager:

• Develop people and teams through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
• Participate in discussions about software architecture
• Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the team as well as the many customer teams that use the infrastructure products
• Grow the technical expertise of your teams
• Help develop and evangelize great engineering practices across all of Notarize
• Work with the recruiting team to attract, onboard and retain diverse top talent
• Stay close to the process and product by coding about 10%-20%

What you'll bring:

• Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching and mentoring software development teams and delivering working software together with them
• Enthusiasm for developing and growing people 
• Passion for engineering amazing software
• Daily focus on incrementally improving the product, the process, yourself, and your teammates
• Ability to find out what is slowing engineers down and enable them to develop quickly and with high quality.
• Thoughtful communication skills, openness to constructive feedback, availability for questions, discussions, and advice

Whether it’s an antiquated legal process, an edge-case user interaction, a quirky piece of code, or a desk that hasn’t been put together yet, we show up every day with the goal of digging in and leaving something better than we found it.
