Who you are

In this crucial role, your time will be mainly focused on managing the engineering efforts for an engineering team, concentrating on full-stack development. Your daily tasks will span from but are not limited to, directing day-to-day engineering efforts, managing new and/or existing projects, conducting code reviews, and driving mission-critical projects to a successful outcome. You will lead a team of talented engineers while growing their capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and direct feedback. You will be responsible for providing guidance to the Strategic Partnerships Engineering team who work on delivering ads to our consumers and on other features to support our large brands. You will partner with a Product partner and lead the team to accomplish key deliverables for Drizly. We practice agile methodologies and strive for continuous improvement, so be prepared to run sprint planning meetings, weekly stand-ups, retros & post mortems. You will be working closely with other engineering leaders, implementing your skills and helping drive innovation, curiosity, and establishing best practices across the organization as we continue to scale.

Ideally, during your IC engineering days, you have gained experience working with at least some of our stack (Ruby on Rails, React/Redux, Javascript/Typescript, AWS, Docker). However, we can be flexible around your specific language experiences; we care more about general engineering acumen vs. having a specific tech stack in your background. You hold a true passion as a leader, to guide, mentor, monitor performance, scope management, code reviews, and partner closely with other leaders to map out strategic plans for important architectural and technical decisions. You have an eye for good testing & strive to ship quality code. We would be really impressed if you had experience in eCommerce, advertising, or the food and beverage technology space.
