Who you are
In this crucial role, your time will be focused on managing the engineering efforts for a team focused on Site Reliability Engineering. Your responsibilities span, but are not limited to, directing day-to-day efforts, managing new/existing projects, and driving mission-critical projects to a successful outcome. You will lead teams of talented engineers while growing their capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and direct feedback. You will be fully responsible for leading your team in accomplishing key deliverables for Drizly. We are an agile shop, focused on continuous improvement, so expect to be running sprint planning meetings, stand-ups, retros, and post mortems. While working closely with other engineering leaders, you’ll help drive innovation and establish best practices across the organization as we scale.
Ideally, you have at least 2 years of SRE experience, and have spent at least 5 years of managing a team of engineers. Stakeholder management is a strength of yours, and managing conflicting priorities is second nature to you. Cloud experience is necessary, but we are flexible on your specific experience; we care more about general engineering acumen than any specific tech. We would be really impressed if you had experience with AWS, Python, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Elastic, etc. You have a true passion for leading, mentoring, performance monitoring, managing scope, reviewing code, and working closely with others to plan out architectural & technical decisions. You have an eye for good testing and strive to ship quality code. We would be really impressed if you had experience working in a high compliance environment.
What the role is
In this Engineering Manager position, you will play an essential role on the engineering team by bringing an innovative and leadership mindset to scaling our Site Reliability Engineering. You want to invest in our people and make sure that they have a great career trajectory here at Drizly. You will handle the day-to-day management responsibilities for your engineering teams by focusing on career growth, goal setting, and creating new opportunities. You will be responsible for team execution, process, and accountability while partnering with Product to help shape the future roadmap and uncover new possibilities as we grow.
In this role you will:
- Have experience leading and managing a team that focuses on Site Reliability Engineering
- Work with stakeholders across the organization to develop and refine a visible and shared backlog of work
- Develop company wide dashboards showing system health, process compliance, etc
- Define, measure and report key KPIs including implementation of the tools required for this
- Define, educate and measure policy and procedures
- Help your team develop new skills and advance in their careers, including improving SRE work/life balance at Drizly
- Focus on team-building both in helping to hire amazing talent and creating a collaborative environment
- Instill strong communication both within your team and across the engineering organization

For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $136,700 per year - $160,800 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Drizly's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
