Who you are


In this critical role, your time will be focused on managing the engineering efforts for a team heavily embedded within our Cloud Services functions. Your responsibilities span, but are not limited to, directing day-to-day efforts, leading new/existing projects, and critically important projects to successful outcomes. You will lead teams of passionate engineers while growing their capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and direct feedback. You will be fully responsible for leading your team in accomplishing key deliverables for Drizly. We are an agile shop, focused on continuous improvement, so expect to be running sprint planning meetings, stand-ups, retros, and post mortems. While working closely with other engineering leaders, you’ll help drive innovation and establish best practices across the organization as we scale.


Ideally, you have at least 7 years of public cloud experience, and have managed a team of engineers. Stakeholder management and collaboration are strengths of yours, and handling conflicting priorities is second nature to you. Security experience is a plus - we would be impressed if you have had experience working with firewalls, and security applications. As this team will have influence on our DevOps infrastructure, we would also love to see experience with Kubernetes, or other containerization tools. In addition, you should have a true zest for leading, mentoring, performance monitoring, managing scope, and working closely with others to plan out architectural & technical decisions.


What the role is


In this Engineering Manager position, you will play a critical role on the engineering team by bringing innovative leadership and passion into scaling our Cloud Services functions. You want to invest in our people and make sure that they have a great career trajectory here at Drizly. You will handle the day-to-day management responsibilities for your engineering teams by focusing on career growth, goal setting, and creating new opportunities. You will be responsible for team execution, process, and accountability while partnering with Product to help craft the future roadmap and uncover new possibilities as we grow.

In this role you will:

  • Have experience leading and developing a team that focuses on Cloud Services and DevOps
  • Work with different stakeholders across Drizly to develop and refine a visible and shared backlog of work
  • Work to revamp our AWS account infrastructure, as well as access and availability of our software
  • Define, measure and report key KPIs including implementation of the tools required for this
  • Define, educate and measure policy and procedures
  • Help your team develop new skills and advance in their careers, including improving work/life balance at Drizly
  • Focus on team-building both in helping to hire outstanding talent and creating a collaborative environment
  • Instill strong communication both within your team and across the engineering organization

For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $136,700 per year - $160,800 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Drizly's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
