If this sounds like a fit, we’re looking to hire a Director of Cloud Operations to join our Site Reliability Engineering team.

What success looks like

· Engage & influence MassMutual technology leadership to implement and utilize 'best-in-class' technologies and frameworks to drive continuous improvement in our Cloud and Platform Operations teams.

· Work with the engineering teams in analyzing and recommending the right tools and solutions for the problem.

· Achieve our objectives for continuous improvement on speed, cost and effectiveness through metric-based management, and standardizing deliverables that align with Site Reliability Engineering’s core standards.

· Partner with program owners to provide engineering delivery, operations and support in Cloud & Infrastructure deliverables/environments.

· Leadership: Drive for business results; proven ability to deliver; set clear goals and empowers team to achieve objectives through continuous improvements.

· Strategy: Effectively anticipate future possibilities, opportunities and risks through understanding of the Company’s businesses, competitive strategies, marketplace and opportunities.

· Innovation: Continually look within and beyond their job, anticipating business needs and opportunities.

What your days and weeks will include

· Define and oversee the execution of the delivery efforts for all MassMutual Cloud Operations requests and projects aligning to the Cloud Strategy and Product specific initiatives.

· Lead a team of Cloud Operations Engineers.

· Create and Manage day to day processes including Incident management, configuration management, patching and SLA’s around operations requests.

· Provide the day-to-day leadership of key delivery efforts aligning with company priorities and internal business partners.

· Responsible for the interaction with development to ensure representation of cloud operations needs.

· Model the behaviors for interactions with key partners across MassMutual and set standards for the team to emulate.

· Establish and enforce repeatable practices for core support and operations functions.

· Cloud Infrastructure monitoring, management, cost management and planning.

· Define and build an organization that supports the business, and aligns staff in roles that match their skills, while enabling growth and acting definitively to make changes and corrections where warranted.

· Instill and demonstrate a focus on delivery of high quality services as seen through the accuracy, currency and availability of the systems and services within the scope of responsibility.

· Partner with Enterprise Risk Management team to ensure policy controls and procedures are implemented and adhered to across cloud environments.

· Oversight of daily operations and support of Cloud Operations team.

Basic Qualifications

· 10 years of overall experience working in a strategic operations position with at least 5 years of IT leadership, business unit, or other functional leadership experience.

· 3 years of experience performing and directing leadership responsibilities in an operations based role.

· Clear track record of leading/driving key initiatives working with cross-functional teams to successfully implement critical business projects, problem solutions and continuous improvement efforts etc.

· Demonstrated risk management strategies and recommendations to drive expected results, mitigate risk, while balancing cost and benefits

· Knowledge of modern cloud technology platforms with understanding of architecture and design principles for high performance and scalability.

· Experience with managing vendor delivery and relationships.

· Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

· Experience with Agile development methodology.

· Experience managing large-scale projects.

· Personal Presence: Command respect and credibility within their team, the business and the Enterprise; effectively and comfortably influence at multiple levels with internal and external constituencies; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Team Player / Relationship Building: Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills; able to relate to and build strong relationships with diverse internal and external audiences/constituencies; leverage the ability to deliver effectively.

· Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business or related field

Preferred Qualifications

· 3 years of experience working in a operations position associated with cloud based technology

· 7 years of IT leadership, business unit, or other functional leadership experience
