We are seeking an experienced digital design engineer as a member of the Engineering team developing wireless charging technology for electric vehicles. The candidate will be involved in the definition, design, development and release to manufacturing of new hardware products.   They should be comfortable working in a small, energetic team and be flexible to adapt as product and market demands evolve.  

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of hardware development through the entire design life cycle including: initial concept, functional specification, design, PCB layout, prototype test validation and release to manufacturing
  • Select components based on circuit analysis of specifications and reliability
  • Develop schematic entry for digital, analog and mixed signal designs including symbol/footprint creation, manage BOM and PCB place & routing layout activities
  • Interact and collaborate with the mechanical, software engineering and manufacturing/operations teams throughout the development effort
  • Support System Test activities and Quality Assurance

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 to 5+ years developing embedded microprocessor and/or digital signal processor (DSP) products
  • Digital logic circuit design using micro-controllers, DSPs (TI TMSS320 series), CPLDs, FPGA, SRAM, Flash memory
  • Knowledge of analog circuits including amplifiers, power supplies, filters, transistor circuits, and A/D and D/A convertors
  • Interfacing to standard interfaces such as RS232, RS422, USB, I2C, SPI ,CAN
  • FPGA development in VHDL/Verilog languages
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium software a plus)
  • Must have extensive lab experience including the use of oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Familiar with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT) and Design to Cost (DTC) methodologies and practices
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and possess good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and to work in a team environment
