Job Summary
MORSE is looking for a DevOps Systems Engineer to join our growing team of IT professionals. To maximize the efficiency of MORSE's engineering efforts, the DevOps Systems Engineer will lead DevOps and cloud initiatives, as well as manage, maintain, and upgrade development-related systems and infrastructure. The DevOps Systems Engineer will interact with a wide variety of projects covering machine learning & artificial Intelligence, software development, autonomous vehicle hardware, and more.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operation of key systems that support MORSE's engineering teams.
Work with program teams to ensure that MORSE's systems align with current and future requirements.
Institutionalize cloud computing and DevOps principles and best practices within MORSE programs.
Develop and foster DevOps and Cloud expertise within program teams.
Drive DevOps and Cloud initiatives in support of MORSE's engineering teams by being a technical lead and subject matter expert.
Skills and Requirements
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree, and at least 5 years of experience working in software development environments with 2-3 years working in DevOps.
Experience working in a fast-paced, agile software engineering environment.
Experience supporting development systems on a variety of platforms and operating systems including Windows, Linux and macOS.
Strong working knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker.
Experience managing a variety of development-related systems, including bug tracking, knowledge bases, code repositories, package managers, and CI/CD systems. Experience implementing development-related systems is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud computing stacks and concepts like virtualization, containerization, cloud security, and infrastructure as code.
Experience with development-related system upgrades, migrations, and platform conversions.
Preference will be given to candidates that also have one or more of the following:
Working knowledge of one or more programming languages, including Python, C/C++, or C#.
Experience managing and automating cloud computing environments.
Experience with utilization/cost analysis for cloud computing solutions.
Prior experience working in National Security/Defense sectors.
